About the Experience:

This was not your typical tour. We had the rare opportunity to get a sneak peek of what the Newberry Library has in its renowned special collections. We gathered in a secure, climate-controlled room where we could interact directly with historic design artifacts from Chicago’s rich print history. We turned pages, examined details up close, and captured images (no flash) of these rarely accessible pieces.

Following the 90-minute presentation, we had the opportunity to view the current exhibition “Mapping Outside the Lines” and explore the library’s gift shop and other exhibitions at our leisure.
