In this talk, project organizer Nicolette Stosur-Bassett shared the Designing For podcast series, which showcased the stories of 10 Chicago designers whose work practice changed in 2020; the Designing For graphic archive, documenting COVID signage throughout each phase of the pandemic; and the Designing For community health survey, which revealed the pandemic’s impact on creatives’ mental health.
An interactive component of the presentation invited participants to provide input on an upcoming Designing For zine. Designing For aimed to capture the design impact of a significant, shared cultural experience.
